A vote for Buhari is for consolidation ― Ex-APC women leader

IMMEDIATE past National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ramatu Tijanni Aliyu, has called on party faithful and Nigerians to vote en masse for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to consolidate on the gains recorded so far by his administration.

She made the call while addressing thousands of APC loyalists and followers who attended a road show organised in Abuja to shore up support for the president ahead the presidential election coming up on Saturday.

Dr Aliyu, who is the initiator and chief convener of the roadshow, said it was not the everyday type, adding that its essence was to tell the whole world that the president was a man of integrity who deserved a second term of office.

According to a statement made available to TribuneOnline on Wednesday, the former APC national women leader, who also doubled as the National Women Leader of the Presidential Support Committee (PSC), called on the electorates to vote en masse for President Buhari and also shun acts of thuggery and violence during the election.

“A vote for Buhari is a vote for consolidation. It’s a vote to push Nigeria to a greater level. We are here today to dwell more on the need to shun violence. We also want to admonish you all to shun violence and political thuggery.

“Our president is a man of peace. APC is a party that has the interest of the masses at heart. Kindly come out en masse and vote in again the men of integrity; I mean, President Muhammadu Buhari and our vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

“The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration deserves another four years period (a second term, in order to continue the good work and also for stabilisation and consolidation.

“The school feeding system for the pupils are there; the rail projects, Trader Moni, fighting corruption to a standstill; and N-Power, among other things worthy of mention. Time for consolidation has come,” she said.

Present at the roadshow was the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalong; Waziri Bulama, Deputy Director General, Presidential Campaign Committee; Okoi Obno Obla, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution; Ambassador Debora Illiya; and the Nigerian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo; General. Garba Audu Dibal, among other APC chieftains.
