In a country where political leaders are often synonymous with self-interest, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, the honourable member representing the good people of Ondo Constituency 1 at the state house of assembly, has proven to be a breath of fresh air. His recent disbursement of 7.5 million naira as MSME grants to empower his constituents is a testament to his commitment to the people’s welfare.
What’s even more impressive is that this gesture was funded from his personal resources, without any government support. This is not the first time he has demonstrated such selflessness; last year, he disbursed over 10 million naira to artisans and small business owners in the constituency.
Hon. Ogunwumiju’s actions are a stark reminder that leadership is about serving others, not personal gain. His dedication to empowering his constituents, especially young people and women, is a testament to his belief in the potential of the next generation.
In an era where constituency allowances have been suspended since the days of Governor Mimiko, Hon. Ogunwumiju’s noble effort stands out. He has proven that with courage, compassion, and a willingness to serve, young people can make a difference in positions of authority.
I commend Hon. Ogunwumiju for his shining example of selfless leadership and urge others to follow in his footsteps. His actions have inspired hope and renewed faith in the political process. May his legacy continue to inspire a new generation of leaders who will put the people first.
Well done, Hon. Ogunwumiju! Your constituency is fortunate to have you as their representative.
