FIRS announces fresh recruitment

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced its recruitment drive for young graduates to join its team as Tax Officers (Officer II and Officer I).

The agency shared this update on its official X page, indicating that further details on the application process, deadlines, and submission requirements will soon be available on its official website.

“We are looking for candidates with integrity and a strong desire to excel professionally, as well as those who possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

“The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is an equal opportunity employer.

“We encourage all eligible candidates, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background, to consider applying.

“Stay tuned for more details, and thank you for your interest in joining the FIRS team”, the agency wrote.

Tribune Online previously reported that the agency clarified there are no plans to increase taxes or introduce a new tax regime in the country. Instead, the focus is on harmonising existing tax laws.

The FIRS Chairman explained that the proposed four tax reform bills are intended to streamline the various tax laws currently dispersed across different statutes and establishment acts.

He further emphasized that the tax reform bills, recently submitted to the National Assembly, are not designed to raise taxes or create new ones, nor are they aimed at merging any government agencies, ensuring job security remains intact.
