ATBU VC dissociates self from fake social media account

Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Prof Ibrahim Hassan Garba has dissociated himself from a fake Facebook account opened in his name by yet to be identified people.

The VC thereby denied operating the said fake Facebook account opened in his name, obviously with the sole intent to scam innocent persons.

A statement from the Director of Information of the University, Zailani Bappa on Saturday contained that a screenshot of a transaction by a good samaritan revealed a direct attempt to lure the person into a supposedly certain contract.

“In view of this, it has become necessary to alert the general public, especially our stakeholders, that the Vice Chancellor will never engage in any official transaction with anyone on the social media for any purpose whatsoever,” the University warned.
