Eight governorship aspirants under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC, in Taraba state have accused two other aspirants seeking for the same position of snatching the primary election results in the state.
The eight governorship aspirants include Garba Umar, Boiboi Kaigama, Aliu Umar, Sani Yahaya, Kabiru Dodo, Ezekiel Afukunyo,  Ibrahim Tumba and David Sabo Kente, the due accused Sen. Danlami Ikenya and the former acting governor of Taraba state Sani Danladi of highjacking and manipulating the election results to their favour.
APC Taraba state chapter had adopted direct primary elections to choose candidates that will fly the flags of the party in the state come 2019 general election.
Addressing press conference at Galaxy Hall in Jalingo Taraba state capital, the eight aspirant who spoke through David Sabo Kente call on the national Secretariat of APC to disregard any governorship primary election result from Taraba state, stating that the election process was highjacked and doctored by the two persons.
The eight aspirants also call on the national leadership of the party to disqualify Danlami Ikenya and Sani Danladi for defaulting the earlier agreed terms by the ten governorship aspirants of APC in the state.
The governorship aspirants under APC in Taraba state had earlier on Saturday pass a resolution that whoever among the men who engage in thuggery, snatching of ballots and highjacking of election materials should be disqualified from the race.
They call on the national Secretariat of APC to organise a fresh governorship primary election that would be free and fair for the people of the state to choose who will fly the flag of the party come 2019 general election.
When contacted, the former minister for labour and productivity Sen Joel Ikenya denied the allegations by the eight aspirants.
Ikenya said he was in Jalingo the state capital at the time of the accusation while collation of results was ongoing across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
He said he did not participate in the conduct of the primary election, therefore, is not possible for the aspirants to accuse home of highjacking the process.
“Why are you accusing me of such? Am I among the electoral committee? Am not participating in the election process, therefore, mentioning my name there is unacceptable.
