Hair care: 5 ways to make your twists last longer

More than ever before, twists have become the order of the day for people who have natural hair and strive to keep it healthy. Why is this so? Because of its versatility.

You can style twists however and whenever you want. Are you a lover of wigs? You won’t have to give them up because you have twists on. People who don’t like the stress of doing their hair more than once a month will find this helpful.

  1. Wash at regular intervals

It is imperative to wash your hair at least once in two weeks to keep residues of products like oil etc, out of your hair. Ensure to wash with mild shampoo or look out for hair-friendly black soaps; yes, they exist.

  1. Product application

Washing your hair is insufficient to keep your hair twists intact for long. After washing your hair, it is important to apply a deep conditioner. Also, as you go about your daily life, you should apply water and oils in minimal quantities to your hair and scalp. You could also apply hair spray, hair butter and mousse.

  1. The use of satin

Satin bonnets are good for your hair to keep the products in your hair intact. Satin pillows are also useful if you don’t have a hair bonnet on or it falls off in your sleep.

  1. Waterproof cap

There are waterproof caps like shower caps. If you want your hair twists to last longer, keep one, especially during the rainy season, when you have your bath or in the pool to keep your hair away from excess water.

  1. Tighten your hair twists

To keep your hair twisted for a long period, you should tighten them at intervals. You should go to a professional for this process. The idea is to wear it for a long period, right?
