A 70-year-old widow of a renowned Petroleum marketer in Ibadan, Chief Mrs Olabisi Oyediji has raised the alarm over a looming danger at a fuel station she previously owned in the Akobo area.

Chief Oyediji is the widow of the Late Chief Bayo Oyediji.

Chief Olabisi in an interactive session with the media in Ibadan disclosed that she has leased out the property for ten years.

She, however, expressed surprise that the present occupier of the place does not take cognizance of the inflammatory nature of the Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as petrol as Suya spot was sited near the place.

She said the property was leased out for ten years because of her inability to cope with the financial demands.

“One of my brothers named Adisa advised me to lease out the property because age is no longer on my side. I listened to his advice and leased out the property

She added that out of the ten years as stated in the contractual agreement, the present occupier has spent six years remaining four years

The widow who claimed to have been bedridden for years for an undisclosed ailment expressed readiness to pay off the remaining four years’ balance over an alleged breach of contractual agreement.

She said the place was licenced as a filling station by the former Directorate of Petroleum Resources but all manners of business outlets have been sited on the plot of land.

According to her, I am ready to pay off the remaining balance. He should vacate the place.

When newsmen visited the controversial filling station, the present occupier of the place, Olusegun Marcus expressed shock over the various allegations raised.

He said there was no iota of truth in madam’s allegation of putting up a structure on the underground tank.

To further confirm this, Marcus ably supported by his Station Manager took the newsmen to where the tank heads were located in an open place contrary to the argument of Mrs Oyediji.

He said that he has been dragged before the Commissioner of Police, Oyo state over this and other matters

Marcus said that he was surprised that another matter was being raised on this issue.
