1. Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, founder of The Fountain of Life Church in Lagos, is first on this list of 7 Nigerian Pastors who lost their wives. Pastor Odukoya experienced the loss of two wives. His first wife, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, died in a plane crash on December 10, 2005. In 2010, he married Nomthi Odukoya, a South African, who passed away on November 9, 2021, after a two-year battle with cancer. 

2. Pastor Ituah Ighodalo

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, founder of Trinity House Church in Lagos, lost his wife, Ibidunni Ighodalo, on June 14, 2020. Ibidunni, a former beauty queen and philanthropist, died suddenly of a heart attack in Port Harcourt.

3. Pastor David Adeoye

Pastor David Adeoye, founder of Royalty Christian Centre, lost his wife, Folake Adeoye, after a brief illness. He decided to remarry Sumbo Ajaba, a single mother who previously had children for Nigerian Musician, 2Baba. Pastor David claimed that he had a strong conviction in him that she was his wife.

4. Pastor Anselm Madubuko

Pastor Anselm Madubuko, General overseer of Revival Assembly Church, lost his wife, Pastor Connie Madubuko, in July 2012. The couple had been married for 28 years before her sudden death.

5. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and founder of Word of Life Bible Church lost his wife, Stella Oritsejafor, in 1996. She died in a car accident while returning from a church program.

6. Pastor Lazarus Muoka

Pastor Lazarus Muoka, General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, has lost two wives. He lost his first wife in 2010 and lost the second wife, Pastor Joy in 2024.

7. Pastor William Kumuyi

Pastor William Kumuyi, founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, lost his wife, Abiodun Kumuyi, in 2009 after a brief illness.
