A land speculator, Rasaki Shakoto, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for allegedly obtaining N2.8 million from a businessman under the guise of selling land to him.
60-year-old Rasaki, who pleaded not guilty, committed the alleged offences sometime in June 2013, at the Iworo area of Badagry, Lagos.
He allegedly obtained the sum of N2.8 million from one Otunba Williams Kuye on the pretext of selling two acres of land to him.
The Magistrate, Mr Martins Owumi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in custody pending when he would perfect his bail conditions.
