60 bag first class in Idahosa University, Fayose for convocation lecture

Sixty out of 721 graduating students of the Benson Idahosa University have bagged first class degrees.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ernest Izevbigie, announced this on Monday at a press briefing in Benin, ahead‎ of the institution’s 13th convocation ceremonies.
Izevbigie explained that the figure comprised 606 undergraduate degrees, with 144 in the second class u‎pper division and 364 in the lower division, while 38 graduands would receive third class degrees.
He said that 115 higher degrees would also be awarded.
The vice-chancellor noted that the ceremonies would begin with a convocation service‎ on Friday and a lecture to be delivered by the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.
‎He also stated that an honorary degree would be conferred on the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli.
Izevbigie, who emphasised that the university had continued to demonstrate capacity in research and learning‎, disclosed that work was in progress at its permanent site in Okha in order to expand its scope.
According to him, the graduating students, nicknamed the “Titans,” had been trained in line with the vision of the university to produce global leaders.
