Do you know that bras can soak up bacteria and sweat each day they are worn? That’s why knowing how to care for your bra is imperative. It is not meant to be washed, not even stored. Some bras are not designed to be rough-handled.
Here are ways to care for your bra:
Before you throw your bras into the water, look for any stains that need special washing or attention. If there are, you have to prewash this area gently before soaking it completely. Also, check the hooks and straps of your bra to see if they are still intact; if not, replace them.
Your choice of detergent matters if you want your bra to last. The detergent must not be harsh on the fabric because it can change the shape of your bra, cause discolouration, and make it worn out. A damaged bra would affect your skin, so look out for the chemical composition of the detergent you want to buy or opt for the ones specifically for delicate fabrics.
Another way to care for your bra is to soak it in warm water with a gentle detergent, as discussed earlier. Don’t use hot water so that it won’t bleach or fade your underwear. Allow the bra to soak for a few minutes, then wash thoroughly, rinse, and drain gently. Do not twist it to get rid of water.

The best way to maintain the shape of your bras is always to air-dry them. Avoid twisting rather lay the bra flat and hang by the centre not the straps —- it would stretch your underwear.
Placing your bras inside each other or hanging them by the straps can damage the shape. Instead, you should make it flat to protect the cup and its elasticity.
