The explosion occurred at a gas shop when owners of the business were offloading cooking gas into the shop.
An unconfirmed report had it that the explosion might have started from a spark from a mobile phone, which was being used by an unidentified person.
The director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rassak Fadipe confirmed the incident to Tribune Online and added that firefighters from Badagry fire station and neighbouring stations were still battling with the fire as at the time of filing this report
The deceased persons were identified as apprentices at a nearby hair salon and a commercial motorcyclist, who was standing in front of the gas shop
