In a shocking incident that unfolded in Lokoja, Kogi State, the duo of Adebanjo Oluwagbemiga Bayo, 41, and an Indian citizen, Linga Reddy, 37, were caught engaging in homosexual activity.

The incident, which happened in a guest house on Sunday, August 9, 2020, has sparked public outrage, leading to an assault on him before Adebanjo Bayo managed to escape.

Upon being caught, Bayo was forcibly dragged out of the room by a group of individuals who subjected him to a severe beating.

It was gathered that Bayo managed to flee the scene by boarding a commercial motorcycle, evading further harm.

According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, “The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday when Adebanjo Oluwagbemiga Bayo and his partner, Linga Reddy, were discovered together in a guest house.

The two men were allegedly engaged in a homosexual act when they were unexpectedly interrupted by a group of individuals.

“The discovery provoked a swift and violent response from those who encountered the pair. Adebanjo Bayo was forcibly dragged out of the room and subjected to a severe beating by an angry mob.

“Despite the brutality of the assault, Bayo managed to break free from the grips of his attackers.

“In a desperate bid to escape further harm, he reportedly boarded a commercial motorcycle that was passing by, evading capture.”

“The commercial motorcycle driver who assisted in Bayo’s escape remains unidentified, and it is unclear whether he was aware of the circumstances or simply responding to a fare,” another eyewitness said.

His partner, Linga Reddy, was apprehended by the enraged group and subsequently handed over to the police.

Reacting to the development, Kogi State Police, Lokoja Command, confirmed the incident and disclosed that it has launched an investigation into the matter.

While pledging to arrest Adebanjo Bayo, the police urge the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report any relevant information that could assist in their investigation.
