40 secondary schools battle at second edition Inter-school debate by Park Inn

PARK INN by Radisson has started the second edition of her Inter-school debate, with 40 secondary schools in the race for the top prizes.

The General Manager of the hotel, Kayode Aina made this known to journalists at a press conference held on Wednesday in the company’s premises in Abeokuta.

The General Manager said that the company would continue to aid the curiosity of the Nigerian child through its corporate social responsibility’s initiative.

“We have decided to continue to support the Nigerian child’s curiosity and learning through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative tagged ‘Education and the Nigerian Child’, which uses the inter-school debates as a tool to rejuvenate healthy competition among secondary schools in Nigeria.

“The debates are aimed towards opening up the minds of the children, helping them research, think outside the box and exchange views on a wide range of topical issues.

“As a way of giving back to the society and appreciating our customers, we debuted a CSR program in 2017, in conjunction with Kola Obadimu Jr’s Playhouse. The CSR involves organising inter-school secondary school debates in Ogun State.

Giving his remarks on the first edition, Mr Kayode said that the winners of the first edition got an opportunity to visit Kenya on a three day all expense paid educational tour in partnership with Kenya Airways and Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi.

He, however, stated that the second edition of the debate would be a bigger competition than the first, which would start on 22nd October 2018 and the final on 28 February 2019.
