About 37 Nigerian youths would be competing to win N10 million at the Naija talent Comedy competition, organised by the Doyin and Susan foundation.

The Doyin and Susan foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that was born out of the desire to empower the Nigerian youth and taking them off the street, while the Naija talent search is committed to helping the youth of Nigeria.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the Producer of the show, Ziggy Ogbaki said interested youths would register with N2000 after which 37 contestants would be drawn across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for the grand finale.

He said Nigeria has huge talents, that if they are not explored, would die untapped without fulfilling the aim God created it for.

“The Naija talent search which began in 2009 is aimed at organizing and collaborating with other organizations/companies to create a competitive environment among all levels of student in all states of Nigeria, to carry on the business of youth building and organizing programs that will enhance their confidence for Nigeria, to carry on the business of organizing programs that will boost or inspire talents or innovative talents of the Nigerian people especially the youth to carry out the business of guidance and career counseling to rural students for their future study, among others.

“The Naija talent search and Doyin and Susan foundation having seen this very Hugh vacuum and the fact that these youths need to be taken off the street decided to fill in this gap by ensuring that these talents are tapped and allowed to blossom with the much-needed support.

“In this light, the Doyin and Susan foundation alongside the Naija talent search has come up with the Naija comedy empire television reality show.

He said the programme was geared towards searching for raw talents on the streets and bringing them up to the public domain and make them sort after.

“We want to showcase Naija to the world, we want the whole world to know that Nigeria has talents and we hope to achieve this by including our winners in the American talent reality shows

“We also want to provide mentorship for the next two years and groom these young talents so they can reach their potentials”, he noted.

“Registration has begun and interested participants are to pay a token of two thousand Naira for the registration, we are looking at a total of 37 contestants that will be drawn from the 36 states of the country including the Federal Capital Territory and a lot of fabulous prices await the winners as the winner will go home with a cash price of 10 million Naira and a brand new car while lots of consolation prices will be available for the runners up.

“The Naija comedy empire will start in April this year and will run for a period of six weeks, concluding with an award night for comedy icons”, he added.
