Multiple Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed plans to donate N300 million to orphanages in commemoration of his upcoming birthday.

The ‘Awuke’ hitmaker, who will turn 32 on November 21, announced this in a post on his verified X account on Monday.

According to him, the funds will be distributed to various orphanages across the country, as well as to a charity focused on combating drug abuse and addiction among young people.

He added that more details about the donation would be made public in due course.

He wrote, “Once again on my birthday this year we donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m . Details to follow soon ❤️ “

This is not the music star’s first donation of millions to charity. Tribune Online reports that the artist, through his David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), donated N237 million to 424 orphanages across the country in July 2023.
