30,535 Bayelsans have collected PVCs in one week ― INEC

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bayelsa State, says it has issued 30,535 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) bearly one week after it commenced the distribution of PVCs across the state.
INEC’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Timidi Wariowei, during an interview with newsmen in Yenagoa, said with this level of compliance, the commission may successfully distribute over 100, 000 PVCs in one month.
He said the commission before distributing the PCVs had deleted the names of prominent Bayelsans that passed after registration for the card and also cleared those that did multiple registrations from their system.
“The distribution exercise is still ongoing but we must at this point commend Bayelsans for their massive turnout to get their cards and urge those who are yet to come for theirs to do so.
“The commission has put in place measures to ensure that the distribution exercise is itch-free and nobody is denied the opportunity to get his or her PVC,” He added.
