Chukwu, who resides in the Shomolu area of Lagos State, is facing a two-count charge of assault and wilful damage to property.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 11, at 4.00 p.m. at No. 43, Awoseyin St., in Shomolu, Lagos.
She alleged that the accused had during an argument with his father, Aliche Chuka, punched him in the face and cut him with a sharp object.
“This is the third time the accused is being charged with assault; he beats up his sisters and his nephews all the time.
“During the altercation, he destroyed his father’s four buckets that were up for sale, valued at N20, 000.
“Severally, the Police have had to intervene in his fights.’’
Olaluwoye further alleged that the accused was a serial Indian hemp smoker.

He said the offences contravened Sections 173 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (Revised)
But accused, however, denied the charge.
In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.J. Oghere, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of three years of tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until Aug. 8, for the mention.
