Three persons have been confirmed dead by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in road crashes that occurred in different parts of Ogun State on Christmas Day.
Speaking to TribuneOnline as part of the state sector command’s 2018 Ember Month Special Patrol/January 2019 Operations, FRSC Public Education Officer, Route Commander Florence Okpe said a total of 22 also sustained various injuries in the crashes which involved seven vehicles.
Okpe said the first crash involving a Toyota Sienna with registration number AAA 113 XY and a Bed Ford Truck XB 538 GBD marked occurred at about 2:30 am the Benin-Ore expressway by Omo river at Area J4, near Ogbere.
She said two persons were killed while three others who sustained injuries were taken to Roono Hospital Ijebu-Ode.
Another male was killed when two Bajaj motorcycles including one marked EKY 465 QH and another unregistered cycle were involved in the crash which occurred at about 7:20 pm on the international Idiroko-Owode route. Two persons who sustained injuries were taken to the General Hospital Ota.

The third crash, according to her, occurred at the Day Waterman College axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu road around 10:25 am involving a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ABG 121 XA and a Castar Pickup truck marked LSD 126 XR.
16 persons including 10 males and six females were injured and were taken to General Hospital Abeokuta.
She also said one person was injured in a lone crash that occurred at about10: 35 am on the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway involving a Volvo truck with registration number MEK 721 XA. The injured was reportedly taken to Supreme Global Hospital Sagamu.
Okpe enjoined motorists to obey all traffic laws and signs when travelling during the festivities.
