2,250 Kebbi youths to undergo three-month NDE training

Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Ahmed Tinubu, no fewer than 2,250 youths in Kebbi have commenced three months skill acquisition and empowerment programme under the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).

Addressing participants at the opening ceremony last weekend in Birnin-Kebbi, the Director General of the NDE, His Excellency, Silas Ali Agara stated that Employment initiative is to checkmate the scourge of unemployment in Nigeria.

Represented by the State Coordinator, Mr Amos Francis Ambiato the Director General expressed that various catetegaries of the unskilled and unemployment have been provided for within the framework of the programme such as school leavers, school dropouts, women, graduates of tertiary institutions, retirees and persons with special need among others.

Pointing out that after the training, a good number of the beneficiary will be resettled into productive entreprenueral lives through the provision of tools, equipment and startup capital, adding that those we are not able to resettle will be linked with credit granting institutions for further support.

“I am delighted to inform you that 40,000 out of the 93,731 persons enrolled in this programme will be receiving training in ICT and digital skills,” he said.

In his remark, the State Coordinator, Amos Francis Ambiato told participants that this is a rare opportunity for them because they were selected based on merit, therefore they should be serious about the training.

He reminded them that unemployment is a global issues, adding that with the training, participants will be able to earn a living and be self employed noting that this training has to do with their lives, as a journey of life begins with a step.
