Former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in disarray, rendering it ineffective as an opposition force.
In an interview on Channels TV Sunday, Fayose stated that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has become the voice of the opposition, surpassing PDP’s Atiku Abubakar.
“PDP members no longer have a party,” Fayose lamented, citing the party’s leadership crisis. “We can’t defeat the APC without a unified party.”
Fayose urged Atiku to reconsider his political ambitions, advising him to stop contesting elections.
“The PDP’s internal struggles undermine its ability to present a strong opposition front.
“Obi is now the voice of the opposition, not Atiku,” he added.
Fayose’s comments come as Nigeria’s opposition parties prepare for the 2027 elections.
