In a unanimous show of support that signals early political consolidation ahead of the 2027 general elections, all National Assembly members from Katsina State have endorsed Governor Umar Dikko Radda for a second term in office.
The endorsement – delivered under the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) – was made during a joint meeting of Katsina federal lawmakers on Friday.
The move comes as the Radda administration approaches the midpoint of its first term, and underscores growing confidence within the party’s state structure.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sada Soli (Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency) described the endorsement as a collective and deliberate decision.
He noted that it was rooted in the governor’s performance across key policy areas and a strong sense of grassroots approval from constituents.

“Governor Radda has shown purposeful and inclusive leadership,” Soli said.
“From addressing the security challenges confronting our state to reforming the education sector, empowering farmers, supporting small businesses, and deepening citizen engagement, he has clearly put Katsina on the path to progress.”
Echoing this sentiment, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua (Katsina Central), speaking on behalf of the state’s three senators, seconded the motion to adopt Radda as the APC’s sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
He reaffirmed the upper chamber’s alignment with the House members, adding that the endorsement reflects a shared vision for stability and continuity.
The lawmakers pledged their full political backing to the governor and called on all Katsina citizens – regardless of party affiliation – to rally behind Radda’s leadership.
With this early and unanimous endorsement from both chambers of the National Assembly, Governor Radda gains a critical advantage as the 2027 election landscape begins to take shape.
It also reinforces his position within the APC as its undisputed standard-bearer in Katsina State, while potentially deterring intra-party challengers.
