2027 guber: Gombe APC warns aspirants against violating party laws

Gombe State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has noted with deep concern, the continued violation of extant election laws and the constitution of the party by some of its members who are aspiring to run in the 2027 governorship election.

This was contained in a communique it issued at the end of an expanded State Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 to discuss political developments in the state.

It strongly condemned the actions of these prospective aspirants for the governorship of the state and urged them to avoid distracting the government of the Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya from delivering his campaign promises to the good people of the state.

In the Communique signed by Amb. Moses Kyari Bolda, State Publicity Secretary, the party stated “Accordingly, all political structures and contact committees established by these prospective candidates are hereby disbanded by the party.

“And all loyal party members are urged to refrain from participating in such unlawful campaign activities until all restrictions on political campaigns are lifted.

“As a party governed by the law, we wish to reiterate our commitment to ensuring complete compliance with this directive and our willingness to sanction any member who violates the party’s constitution.”

The APC SEC however commended Governor Inuwa for his dynamic and energetic leadership, especially in these challenging times.

According to the SEC, “The governor’s dedication to serving his people and delivering on his campaign promises despite pressing economic challenges, is a testament to his commitment to their well-being.

“His leadership has been instrumental in delivering essential services and benefits to the greater number of the population, ensuring continuous development and progress across the state despite the economic challenges being faced.

The party also resolved to pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya acknowledging his remarkable achievements and dedication to serving the people.

The successful delivery of essential services and benefits, as well as his ability to adapt and overcome challenging circumstances, have been instrumental to the continuous development and progress of the state.

The party also commended the Governor’s purpose-driven leadership and pledged its continued support for his visionary agenda.

The Party congratulated all its members on the successful nomination of candidates for the upcoming local government council elections stating that, “We encourage all candidates, party members, and the general public to remain law-abiding and committed to ensuring seamless, peaceful, and rancour-free elections.
