2027: Don rallies support for Orji Kalu in Abia North

•describes construction of 80 schools by Kalu as a budget year first of its kind

A renowned academician, Professor Kalu Eni, has urged the people of Abia State to rally around the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, by persuading other political parties not to field candidates against him in the 2027 National Assembly elections.

Eni described Senator Kalu’s performance as incredible and inspiring, particularly “his ability to facilitate the construction of over 80 schools across Abia North Senatorial District in a single budget”, which he described as the first of its kind in Nigeria.

Speaking in a chat with newsmen, Professor Eni praised Senator Kalu as a leader committed to investing in the future of young children through quality and free education, a practice he began during his tenure as the governor of Abia State.

“When I heard that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has renovated over 100 schools, I initially doubted it until I reviewed the 2024 budget to study the performance of lawmakers. I was astonished to see that he facilitated the construction of 80 schools in Abia North Senatorial District within a single budget year. I felt truly proud to come from Abia North. It is time we protect him jealously. This achievement is the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria, and I implore Abians to persuade political parties to unanimously adopt him as the sole candidate in 2027. We cannot afford to lose such a performer. Every sensible Abian should join hands with him for the overall development of Abia North Senatorial District and Abia State as a whole.

“What you’re seeing today is a continuation of what he did as the governor of Abia State. Back then, we had compulsory and entirely free education for all. Every institution in Abia flourished because of his investment in the education sector.

“Today, as the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, he is replicating the same commitment. Free education materials, including uniforms, school bags, and science textbooks—covering chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and more—are being provided. He is a lover of education and the growth of our children because education is the bedrock of our nation and society. Leaders like Senator Kalu are rare, and when we find one, we should protect them jealously. There should be continuity in Abia North because Senator Kalu is the best in the history of our senatorial district.”
