2025 Hajj: NAHCON’s delegation assesses Saudi service providers’ readiness

As preparations intensify for the 2025 Hajj operation, the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has led an official delegation to assess the preparedness of key Saudi Arabian service providers responsible for Nigerian pilgrims’ welfare during their sacred journey.

Leading the commission’s delegation to the office of Mashariq Aldhahabiah, the company contracted to provide services for Nigerian pilgrims at the Masha’ir (holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah), Professor Usman described the visit as a follow-up to the one recently made to Nigeria by the leadership of the company.

A statement signed by NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs, Muhammad Ahmad Musa, made available to Tribune Online today stated that the chairman emphasised NAHCON’s proactive stance, adding that the commission’s goal is to ensure Nigerian pilgrims receive efficient services throughout the period of Hajj.

According to the NAHCON chairman, “Following your recent visit to Nigeria, it is important that we remain updated on new developments and any emerging challenges. Our primary goal is to ensure every Nigerian pilgrim receives diligent and efficient services throughout their pilgrimage.”

Responding, the chairman of Mashariq Aldhahabiah, Muhammad Amin Bin Hassan Andergiri, warmly welcomed NAHCON’s delegation, appreciating their continued vigilance and dedication.

He assured them that his company is fully prepared to deliver quality services to the Nigerian pilgrims.

“Our company remains fully committed and prepared to deliver superior services. We have arranged an inspection of the tents in Masha’ir to demonstrate our readiness and reassure NAHCON of our capabilities,” Andergiri was quoted as saying.

On his part, NAHCON’s Commissioner in charge of Operations, Prince Anofi’u Olanrewaju Elegusi, underscored the importance of transparency and clarity, emphasising that the service provider must always inform the Nigerian Hajj body of developments at each stage.

“NAHCON must stay fully informed about each stage of service delivery contracts. I urge you to prioritise top-notch sanitation facilities and ensure the highest standards for Nigerian pilgrims,” the commissioner said.

According to Musa, the NAHCON delegation subsequently proceeded to visit another key service provider, Ekram Aldyf, where Professor Usman reiterated NAHCON’s expectations for excellence.

The chairman stated that the visit was meant to demonstrate NAHCON’s dedication to addressing any challenges in collaboration with the service provider, with a view to ensuring a memorable pilgrimage for Nigerians.

“The success of Saudi authorities in managing pilgrim welfare stems from an unwavering commitment to the comfort of Allah’s guests.

“Our presence here reaffirms our dedication to collaborating proactively and addressing potential challenges collectively, ensuring a memorable pilgrimage experience for Nigerians,” he said.

Ekram Aldyf’s leadership assured NAHCON of their complete preparedness, detailing staff allocations and showcasing samples of materials designated for pilgrims during their stay at the holy sites.

Meanwhile, Musa stated that NAHCON reaffirmed its relentless commitment to safeguarding pilgrims’ welfare and comfort, working closely with service providers to ensure that the 2025 Hajj is a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience.
