2025 Hajj: NAHCON sets up technical committee to assess CVST app for medical operations

Published by

The Chairman/CE of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, on Tuesday directed the setting up of a technical committee by the commission to evaluate the alignment of an app, CVST Pharmacy app, with NAHCON’s medical team service conditions, operational requirements, and cost implications.

The NAHCON boss gave the directive shortly after a delegation from CVST Pharmacy Limited made a presentation on the app to a team of the Hajj commission, including Prof Usman, commissioners, the medical team, and other officials at the Hajj House NAHCON headquarters in Abuja.

The CVST Pharmacy Limited delegation was led by Ambassador (Dr) Adam K. Mohammed, while Mayowa Ajiboye made the presentation on the app on behalf of the delegation.

The app, according to the developer, was aimed at enhancing medication management, drug dispensation, and patient record-keeping during Hajj operations.

Speaking after the presentation, Prof Usman commended the initiative, adding, however, that the Hajj body has yet to give its approval for the adoption of the app by the commission.

The chairman said the technical committee to be set up would submit a report after its evaluation of the alignment of the app with NAHCON’s medical service conditions.

He said the final decision on the app’s adoption would be based on the committee’s recommendations.

Also speaking, NAHCON Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, emphasised the importance of collaborating with CVST Pharmacy Limited to further assess the feasibility of the app.

On his part, NAHCON’s Head of ICT, Shehu Raji, noted that NAHCON already uses the “Hajj Companion” app, which performs similar functions but lacks AI capabilities, and expressed interest in exploring further collaborations.

Medical staff of the NAHCON Clinic at the event provided feedback on security, offline functionality, and system integration.
