President Bola Tinubu has laid before the Senate, the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) ahead of the presentation of the estimates of the 2025 budget.

A letter he wrote to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, seeking the approval of the MTEF/FSP was read to senators on Tuesday.

Tinubu sought expeditious consideration and approval of the documents, saying that they contained the parameters upon which the 2025 budget proposals would be set.

The President, in a separate request, sought a resolution of the Senate on the $ 2.2 billion borrowing plan to finance the deficit of the 2024 budget.
