2023: Osinbajo will end Nigeria’s insecurity, boost economy ― Igbo youths drum support

Against the yearning of Igbos to produce a president of Igbo extraction, some youths in Anambra State, have thrown their support for the aspiration of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for the February 18, 2023 Presidential election.

The youths under the umbrella of “Igbos for Osinbajo” organized a solidarity march in Awka, in support of the vice president.

They marched in their numbers through the streets of Awka, singing solidarity songs, carrying placards with the inscription “We want Osinbajo”, ” A vote for Osinbajo is a vote of redemption” among others.

Addressing journalists, on Sunday, the Coordinator of the Group, Mr. Oliver Okeke explained that the march was to create awareness and inform Igbos that Osinbajo has declared his intention to join the race for President.

“We have done this in Enugu, Imo, Abia and other states in Sout East. This is Anambra Chapter and after here we will organize a larger march across the southeast to preach the gospel of Osinbajo.

” We are confident in him that he will transform Nigeria. As a sitting Vice President, he has garnered experience had had in some instances acted as President which he perform very well.

“He is humble and experienced which will qualify him as the president of Nigeria.

“What we are preaching is for the president of Nigeria and not for Igbos. It is about interest. Some Yorubas and other tribes are also supporting candidates from the east, like Peter Obi and others, while our interest is for Osinbajo”

The Deputy Coordinator of the group, Micheal Chibuzo, said the economy of Nigeria will gain value if Osinbajo emerges.

“We have confidence he will tackle insecurity, boost our economy against inflation and improve on human capital.”

On her part, Okechukwu Iwuno called for the massive support, and added that his emergence will end insecurity as well as the activities of unknown gunmen.
