Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has said, he is not worried about the cross-carpeting in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as those leaving the party are rather taking bad decisions against their political future.
Ishaku stated this, on Sunday, while interacting with the journalist at the presidential lodge Jalingo, he described those leaving PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as enemies of the country’s democracy and her development.
“Though it is their personal decision, it’s a bad one against the progress of our country’s democracy.
“This idea of leaving the PDP for a failed party and government like the APC, I think is a bad decision even against the political future of the politicians.
“You can not have the desire for good governance and development in any democratic nation when there is no strong opposition on the ground.

“I don’t think any progressive-minded politician would think of leaving PDP for APC. Those leaving are not progressive-minded, the APC has failed in every aspect of development and there is no reason for any progressive-minded politician in the country to leave PDP that has done a lot for the country to join a failed group called APC.
“I am not worried because Nigerians are wise and are going to take very wise decisions in 2023. Cross-carpeting is one thing, convincing the electorates to vote for you under a failed platform like APC is another task,” Gov. Ishaku expressed.
The governor described the insecurity in Nigeria as an embarrassment to the country and her security architectures.
“It’s embarrassing that up till now, the military can not treat the insurgence to the barest minimum.
“I don’t support the call for regional security, the best idea for Nigeria to get out of this mess is to implement the state police being proposed by many of us.
“The country is sliding into anarchy, we are claiming to be practising a Constitution we copied from America which we are not properly following.
“The national assembly needs to wake up now and do the needful to save Nigeria from collapsing as it is sliding into anarchy,” Ishaku called.
