2023 Elections: Bola Ilori Group inaugurates canvassers for Tinubu in Ondo

The Special Adviser to the Minister of Interior and Chairman, Federal Government Task Force on Expatriate Quota Administration in Nigeria, Bola Ilori, has inaugurated grassroots canvassers for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in Ondo state to ensure victory in the next Saturday election.

While speaking, Ilori said the group was put in place to educate electorates on Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) new directives for the coming elections.

He said the canvassers will also move round the state to solicit support and votes for the APC and all its candidates in the elections.

The former Commissioner in Osun state, noted that the changes in the guidelines of elections conduct brought by the new electoral law require that electorates, especially the aged should be educated to be able to perform their civic rights without hassles.

He said “There are teeming supporters of the APC and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who are ready to vote in the coming presidential election.

“So, the idea is to ensure that all our potential votes are secured while canvassing for more through this exercise”

The former Chairman of Alimoso Local Government Area of Lagos State and former Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor, said many old people may find some of the new innovations INEC will be deploying in this coming election strange.

He said the canvassers would educate them and preserve every vote meant for the APC and Bola Tinubu.

“We are practical politicians. We leverage all lawful means to reach out to our supporters. We don’t just sit on the social media and dream of votes.

“We follow our own street and media acceptability with tangible actions. We are backing our strong desire to see Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu become the next President of Nigeria by encouraging our supporters to go to the polling units and cast their votes.” He said.

The canvassers, who are divided into different groups, were equipped with materials ranging from customised jackets, shirts and caps, branded vehicles, megaphones, and other campaign souvenirs.

The canvassers are to engage voters on community-to-community and door-to-door campaigns.
