2023 Election: PRP NWC member storms out of INEC over commendation report

Published by
Deputy National Chairman ( North) of the People’s Redemption Party, Usman Abubakar, on Tuesday,  stormed out of a meeting between the Independent National Electoral Commission and the leadership of registered political parties.
The meeting at the instance of the electoral umpire was called to review the Commission’s conduct of the last general elections.
Usman has expressed strong reservations about the meeting to appraise INEC performance when some of the political parties that fielded candidates for the presidential elections were still in Court, challenging the outcome of the process.
Apparently peeved by his expression, the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, asked the PRP National Working Committee member to take his seat.” Please, take your seat! You aren’t the only one attending this meeting,” the INEC Chairman said.
Usman, who dropped the microphone, stormed out of the INEC headquarters angrily.
The meeting has since dissolved into closed door.
