2019: Yagba communities demand Rep slot

THE people of southeast in Yagba east local government area of Kogi state said they had inaugurated a five-man committee to further press their demand for the House of Representatives seat of Yagba federal constituency.

The committee put in place by the major political parties in the area was meant to ensure that the southern part of the local government area produced the next House of Representatives members.

This was disclosed on Tuesday in a communiqué at the end of stakeholders from different political parties, retired and serving public Officials, Opinion molders, Youth leaders, market women, students, unions, and leaders and signed by Ayo Osatoba.

The zone said there was no going back on their demand for the slot, saying political parties participating in the 2019 election must field their kinsmen for the House of Representatives in line with the political zoning arrangement.

The communiqué reads apart, “Rising from the meeting, it was resolved that re- an affirmation of the desire of the district to encourage her political gladiators to honestly vie for House Of Representatives in all the parties without prejudice to any individual interested in the Senate slot.

“All Members of viable political parties must lobby for the zoning of Lower Chamber of National Assembly to S/East Yagba. While the Credential of each Aspirant will speak for itself.

“A five man committee was set up to plan for an elaborate large meeting against December where Far Political Decisions binding on the Political Class will be taken.”

The forum also called on their womenfolk to partake in the political discuss of the district that will help put political players on their toes.

They also cautioned against any form of political violence in the district, said political thuggery would be resisted.
