2019: We have no pact with APC, PDP – APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said on Saturday that it’s had no pact with either of the two leading political parties, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 elections.

The National Convention planning committee of the party in a statement on Saturday said that contrary to insinuations, it has not entered into any alliance with the APC to allegedly split South East votes in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Chairman of the Committee Commander, Joe Anyika (rtd), who stated this in Abuja said that the party will hold a non-elective convention in Abuja on Sunday October 7.

He also declared that APGA has no political understanding with neither the APC not PDP.

He added that the convention in Abuja on Sunday will ratify a Presidential candidate who he said will win next year’s election.

He explained that Major General John Boh (rtd) from Benue State will be affirmed by party leaders during the convention to fly the flag of the party.

According to him, APGA could have struck a deal with either APC or PDP since the two parties are the same.

He said that APGA’s philosophy is different from the two parties.

He said: “We are not working with APC and we are not working for APC. Like I said in my speech, APGA is the new game changer. APC, PDP they are the same. There is no difference between 6 and half a dozen. APGA is the game changer now. We can win the presidential election. It is not impossible. Anything can happen.”

He also said: “You will recall that the last time APGA had a Presidential candidate was 2003: our torch bearer then was Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

“Fielding a presidential candidate in APGA sends a signal to other political parties that the game changer us here. APGA ideology will become a national phenomenon. Developmental politics rooted in
positive state intervention in citizens’ advancement put our great party on the pedestal of social progress, thus propelling the welfare of Nigerians.

“We are set to nationalize our motto: Be your brother and sister’s keeper.

“The time has come for APGA to demonstrate vision and mission specific leadership. The time has come to alter the social drift halting the progress of Nigeria. The time has come to deliver real benefits of
digital democracy for the good people of our beloved nation. The time has come to imbibe patriotic zeal in nation building. The time has come to crack the nut of social indiscipline and graft.”
