ATIKU

THE mobilisation for the victory of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in 2019, has received a boost as Nigerians in the diaspora are being mobilised to support the dream.

Directors of the diaspora wing of Atiku Care Foundation (ACF), Mrs  Grace Okagbare and Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, disclosed this in a statement made available on Wednesday to TribuneOnline in Warri, Delta State.

Grace Okagbare, who is the elder sister of Nigeria track and field heroine, Blessing Okagbare, called on Nigerians in Norway, Europe, America and the Asian countries to intensify and mobilise support for the election of Atiku Abubakar as president come 2019.

Okagbare, who was said to have made the call at a dinner organised for the Europe wing executive members of Friends of Waziri Atiku (FOWA) in Oslo, Norway, urged every member of FOWA in Europe to galvanise support for Atiku ahead of 2019.

She enumerated some of Alhaji Abubakar’s achievements as Nigeria’s Vice President and head of the National Council of Privatisation and supervision to include GSM revolution that saw Nigeria move from 50, 000 to 100 million GSM lines, thereby adding 500, 000 direct jobs to the Nigerian economy and attracting  $27bn to Nigeria’s GDP.

She assured diasporic Nigerians that only Atiku could make Nigeria work again as he would revamp the economy and restructure Nigeria.

In his own remark at the FOWA launch in Olso, Chief Onuesoke enjoined the Europe branch executive members of the group to mobilise every Nigerian in Europe to ensure that the Atiku Abubakar brand was marketed to the international community and Nigerians in Europe.

The Delta PDP chieftain, who’s the FOWA’s electronic and print media chairman, said Atiku has promised fresh initiatives to tackle unemployment in the country.
