2019: Nigeria’s economy will worsen whether PDP or APC wins presidential election —Ayodele

Security

There will be mutiny within the rank and file of the military. The younger soldiers will fight to rise against the older ones. There is corruption in the military, navy, police, immigration and all that. Nigerians will rise up against the security officials. There will be in-fighting within our security apparatuses. There will be protest against the welfare of the security apparatuses. Their salaries will not be paid as and when due, especially those at the Boko Haram war front. The present Service Chiefs are weak; they are no longer in the system. If the president refuses to change them, he would be causing serious problems. If these security chiefs are used for the 2019 elections, there will be many lapses. There will be corruption within the pension administration of the security officers. Promotions will be delayed.

Terrorism has come to stay in Nigeria. They need divine intervention. The herdsmen/farmers’ crisis will get into our political terrain. We need a lot of prayers. Police stations and barracks will be unsafe. Unless ethnicity, nepotism and favouritism are removed from the military, our military will get weaker.

Education

Universities will be shut down. Let us pray against the death of a top ranking ASUU member. ASUU will be divided; there will be betrayals among the members and officials. Between now and 2022, another union will break out of ASUU. Teachers will clamour for a new minimum wage. Let us pray against inferno in some universities and polytechnics. Some rectors and lecturers will be probed. JAMB will be heavily criticised; JAMB’s logo will be changed in the future. Some WAEC staff members will protest. WAEC will be readjusted; let us pray against fire outbreak in any of the WAEC offices. Some part of the SUBEB fund will be misappropriated.  Some private schools will be shut down in Lagos and Enugu. Let’s pray against security threats in any of our institutions.

Health

We should pray against a long strike by health workers that will lead to the deaths of many patients. Let us pray against the outbreak of Ebola in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. We should equally pray against the re-emergence of Lassa fever. We might see traces of polio in the coming year. Diabetes and hypertension will be on the rise. Hepatitis A and B will also be very common. Cancer will be a major killer at the same time. I see a young man of 32 from Germany that will bring vaccine against cancer. Measles and typhoid fever will be on the rise. There will be protests from the various health sector unions. Many state governments will desire to equip their hospitals, yet I do not see any major break from our health sector.

Judiciary

We should pray against the death of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and an activist and a onetime judge.  Magistrates courts will go on strike. Let us pray that none of our courts will be attacked during rampage. There will be new rules in our court procedures. Government will review the retirement age of Judges.

Agriculture

Government will invest more in agriculture. There will be moves by government to take more care of farmers. Some governors will divert funds meant to scale up the welfare of farmers. This will lead to crisis.

There will be more efforts from government to improve on infrastructure, water. Roads will be improved on. Electricity supply will drop by March; it will be worse in April. By June, it will improve a bit. There are Nigerians who are able to improve on our electricity generation and supply. Going to China, Japan or other places to fix our electricity will yield no right result. We can use water, charcoal to improve our generation.

Petroleum

There will be corruption in the NNPC. There will be pipeline explosions again. Some of our refineries will be down. The petroleum price will crash. There will be crisis in OPEC. Many of the oil-producing countries will have issues among themselves. The prices of kerosene and diesel will be unstable. Kerosene will be scarce. There will be scarcity of petroleum  products and with price increase. Subsidy will cause crisis. NUPENG and PENGASSAN will go on strike. Let us pray not to witness gas explosion in Lagos and other states.

Maritime

The maritime industry will make a lot of money. Customs will make a lot of money but there will be hardship that the personnel of customs will be confronted with. There will be various changes at the Customs top hierarchy. Some of the officials will be retired unexpected. Some officers will protest of the decisions that will be taken by the top echelon of the organisation.

There will be crisis among the clearing and forwarding bodies following clamour for a new leader. The tariff on clearing will go up. Format of clearing will change. Some shippers will be shut down, while new ones will merge. Let us pray that we do not witness inferno. There will be tension in some ports. Some terminals will cause problems. There will be problems in Apapa Sea Ports. The Port Controller in Lagos will be changed. There will be  an ocean surge in the year. Some ships will be impounded for bringing fake petroleum products. There will be change in the leadership of the port authority.

Transportation

The NURTW will have issues. There will be killings. There will be factions especially in Lagos, Ibadan, Ondo, Ogun. Let them pray against assassinations among themselves.

Food

There will be food scarcity in 2025. To fight this, I advise that we work on our agricultural sector. Let every state go into serious agriculture. The South West governors should come together and utilise the long stretch of the sides of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Otherwise, hunger is coming. There will be inflation in January and February.

Banking

I repeatedly warned about the fate of Diamond Bank. It has happened. Keystone Bank should be prayerful. Wema Bank, Aso Savings Loan, Zenith bank will have challenges. CBN will have issues.

Economy

Our economy will not be palatable, whether in the hands of the APC or PDP. Let us pray that there won’t be crisis in the NUJ, whether at the state or national level. We should also pray against inferno in any of our media houses. Online publishers will make a lot of fame. But the government will enact laws against them.

Religion

We should pray against religious crisis: burning down of churches or mosques. We should pray for the traditional institution. The Ooni of Ife will make a lot of efforts. He is a symbol among all. There will be gang ups against him but it will not work. We should pray for two prominent kings in the South west. I see the deaths of about three emirs. Let us pray that God will protect our traditional institution, Kidnappings, assassination will be rampart and our youths will be used. We must pray for them.

International community

The second term ambition of the incumbent president of Ghana may not be realised unless he strategises very well. There will be problems in Asia. Let us pray against water trouble and fire. Another terrorist group will come out of Asia. A worse terrorist group than ISIS is coming up.

Donald Trump will not have a second term in office. There will be terrorist attacks in America. There will be a natural disaster that will render many people homeless in America. The US economy will be unstable. There will be inflation. China, US, Russia will cause a lot of problems in the world. India will come up economically and technologically. Indonesia and Taiwan will rise. We watch out for these countries in the next three years.

Some good things will come out in Nigeria. It is only that the government will not give them support. Nigeria will improve so much in the cyber world. But there will be problems in our cyber space. Fuji musicians must be very careful and watchful. Wasiu Ayinde will be very relevant in Nigerian music. King Sunny Ade must pray for his life and band. Let us pray against the death of a one-time president in Nigeria, onetime Senate President in Nigeria and a great legislator in America. Brexit will still generate crisis. There will be killings in Togo.

Let us pray against air crashes. Some airlines will have issues.

Politics

I had said earlier that if PDP had wanted to win the election, they should have given the ticket to Saraki. I still stand by it. It is only Saraki that can unseat Buhari. It won’t be business as usual in Lagos but APC will retain Lagos. It will be tough in Oyo State. The PDP man there has missed it. He will return to APC. APC may not have it in Ogun State. Amosun’s candidate must not be underestimated. He or GNI may take it. Ogun is not for PDP to win.

PDP will have Delta State. There will be tension following the election. It will not be like 2015. Buhari is not Jonathan. Imo State, if care is not taken, will go to APC if that party is serious. APC may win Anambra State at the presidential election. Ebonyi, Cross River will go to APC. If PDP is not careful, Jonathan may be the last president of PDP. If Atiku and Saraki do the right thing, they will win the election. It is not too late for them to win. Atiku needs Saraki to win. PDP can win the presidential election if they put the right team together. If not, APC will come back. PDP will win in Kwara State. Kogi will go to the APC. Saraki and Atiku are still playing; they are not doing what they should do to win the election. A lot will happen in the North-East. Rivers is for PDP. Kano is for APC. Kaduna is for APC. There will be rigging and vote buying.
