2019: Lanlehin remains our gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State – ADC

The National leadership ‎of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Wednesday reaffirmed Senator Olufemi Lanlehin as the gubernatorial Candidate of the Party in Oyo State in the forthcoming general elections.

‎The National Chairman of the Party, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, disclosed in Abuja yesterday in Abuja while addressing news after the emergency meeting of the National Working Committe (NWC) of the Party.
This laid to rest the speculation in the media about the authenticity of Senator lanlehin’s candidature at the poll.
According to the National Chairman, “in line with our earlier Press Statement on the issue of ADC’s ‎ gubernatorial Candidate in Oyo State,the National Working Committee of our great Party wishes to announce that Senator Olufemi Lanlehin remains the gubernatorial Candidate of ADC in Oyo State.
“We have had to revisit the issue to ensure that we accommodate all concerns from various quarters. We have had meetings with all the stake holders of our great Party, including all the aspirants at all levels of elective positions
“This was to ensure that the choice of Senator Lanlehin satisfied the aspirations of all Party leaders, members and stake holders of our Party”.
Chief Nwosu disclosed that all the contentious issue and the grievances of all other aspirants have been ammicably resolved.
While assuring Party members and stake holders that the Party was positioned to take over the government House of Oyo State‎ come 2019, he warned the the Party would not condone acts capable of destabilising the impressive progresses already recorded in the state.
Responding, the Oyo State Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Ahmed Ayinla, commended the leadership of the Party over the ammicable resolution of the matter, saying that it further served  as moral booster for the members of the Party in the State who have been waiting patiently to hear from the National leadership of the Party on the issue.
He described the resolution as a victory for the State Chapter in the 2019 elections.
Also speaking, a chieftain of the Party in the State, Hon Ladi Oluokun, said that the Party would now hit the ground running with mass mobilisation of the people of the State into the Party ahead of the general elections.
