2019: Landslide victory awaits Buhari, APC candidates in Delta ― Emerhor

ONE of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chier O’tega Emerhor, has predicted a landslide victory for President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of APC in the state in the forthcoming general elections.

Emerhor, who is the first APC member to contest on the party’s platform in 2013, said Buhari’s performance in the area of infrastructural development and peacebuilding in the once-troubled Niger Delta region has endeared him to the people.

He spoke with newsmen during the APC presidential campaign and flag off at the Warri Township Stadium on Thursday in Warri, Delta State.

He said that under Buhari, the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, has kicked off and the bill establishing the Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, has been signed into law.

The 2015 APC governorship candidate said Buhari was loved by the people of the state and they were anxiously waiting for the elections to come to enable them massively re-elect him for his second term for the overall development of the country.

Emerhor, who relished the massive turnout at the campaign venue, stressed that if the elections were to be held the following day or anytime, Buhari would defeat his opponents.

“You can see the massive turnout for our President and leader of our party (APC), it shows that APC is fully on ground in Delta State. The people of Delta are also very happy because of Mr President’s performance in the over last three year. President Buhari has performed exceedingly well in all areas.

“What the president has done through the NDDC in the last three years in the state is massive. Most of the roads you drive through today in Delta State were done by NDDC.

“He has brought total peace to the Niger Delta and he has promised to do more. You are also aware that he has opened the Maritime University for academic activities.

“Our people are waiting for the elections to come so that we can reciprocate President Buhari’s performance in the state.

“I can confidently tell you he will score over 80 per cent of the total votes in Delta with this massive turnout in next month’s election. APC has taken over Delta,” he averred.
