2019 Kwara governorship aspirant list swells

NUMBER of governorship aspirants in Kwara state for the 2019 general elections has swelled up to 11 with a new entrant into the race under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Waziri Yakubu Gobir.

The new governorship aspirant, Gobir, has joined others who include Professor Oba Abdulraheem, DG,  National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mallam Modibo Kawu, Alhaji Abdullahi Yaman, Speaker, Kwara House, Dr. Ali Ahmad, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, Alhaji Hakeem Lawal, Dele Belgore SAN,  Lukman Mustapha, Moshood Mustapha, and Hon. Ahman Pategi

Gobir, who collected his nomination form to contest for the 2019 governorship position of Governor of Kwara State during the 2019 elections, said that he was his action was a reaction to call by his supporters and party stakeholders.

The governorship aspirant, an Ilorin born Wazirin Hausa, said he was determined to liberate people and the state from unnecessary poverty and hardship, which he said was being presently experienced.

Gobir added that as an accomplished social entrepreneur he would reduce the high level of unemployment amongst the youth.

Waziri Yakubu Gobir assured workers that payment of their salaries and matters concerning pensioners would be given top priority under his administration, adding that market women and men would be encouraged and empowered.

The APC aspirant announced that he would soon formally declare his intention to contest at a public rally in Ilorin and commended all his supporters, well-wishers and elders of the party for their support so far.

Gobir pledged not to disappoint the people of the state if voted for during the 2019 governorship election.
