Akinlade, who was a three term member of the House of Representatives, stated this while meeting leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), presided over by the party’s senatorial chairman, Alhaji Folorunso Elias, to formally declared his intention to contest for the coveted seat.
The former lawmaker said that the agro cargo airport project if developed would serve as a catalyst towards the economic growth of the senatorial district.
He sought for the support and cooperation of the people in the district to actualise his ambition, promising that his administration would be people -centered.
Akinlade also promised to build on the legacies of the incumbent, Senator Ibikunle Amosun under his five point agenda for the state.
“I have come to seek for your support and prayers. The agro-cargo airport, we must do it because it will generate money, create employment and it will also open up Ogun East area.
“I have knocked on your door, please open up and help me to secure the party ticket and become the candidate for 2019 election. I have the experience and the wherewithal to represent your interest very well,” he said.
The senatorial chairman, Elias, in his remark described Akinlade as a worthy aspirant capable of flying the party’s gubernatorial flag in the state, submitting that the party remains the hope of the masses.
