2019: GPN will take over from APC in Ogun

Published by

THE Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) has vowed to take over the baton of administration from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as from May 2019 in Ogun State.

Stating this was the Ogun East Senatorial candidate of the party, Tope Akintunde while fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of the 33rd Akesan Day celebration in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

He said that the party provided ample opportunities for youths in the country to actively participate in politics by giving out nominations forms to any youth willing to serve the people.

“As far as Ogun State is concerned, GPN is taking over. We are taking over because out of over 60 political parties in Nigeria, GPN is the only party that’s focussed and give 80 per cent chance to the youth without paying a dime for nomination forms. So, GPN is fully set and committed to taking over. Let me state categorically that in 2019 youths are taking over.

“We are telling the older ones to quit the stage for the younger generation. If by 2019, as Green Party of Nigeria senatorial candidate, I defeat the older candidates from other parties, it will bring the message of hope, rehabilitation, reconciliation and reconstruction,” he said.

The graduate of Agronomy urged the federal government to give attention to the agricultural and technology sector as a way of revamping the nation’s economy.

He said that the country had ample opportunities to diversify the economy through agricultural produce and technology but had failed in this area.
