2019 elections: Bauchi INEC begins training of electoral security personnel

Bauchi state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has organised a two day State level Training Workshop for Electoral Security Personnel (Police, Nigerian Army, NAF, DSS, NSCDC, FRSC, NIS, NCS, NPS and NDLEA).
In his Welcome Address, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC Bauchi State, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Said that the training is to clearly define the role of Security Agents especially the Police to maintain Peace and Order in the Society generally which includes the Electoral process before, during and after.
He, therefore, called on them to use the knowledge of the training in discharging their duties during the elections so as to conduct free, fair, credible and acceptable elections.
In his welcome Remarks, the Ag. Director General of the Electoral Institute, Dr Sa’ad Umar Idris who was represented by Alh. Abba Gubiyo said, the training is intended to diversify the Security knowledge and Capacity as well as equip them to deliver electoral security services.
The Chairman, Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State, Ali Janga charged the Participants to pay their attention so that to adequately acquire the knowledge.
