2019 election: We are ready to win Anambra ― SDP

THE Social Democratic Party (SDP) says it has set its agenda for the upcoming 2019 general elections to ensure victory in Anambra State and beyond.

The party made it stand known on Friday, when the party candidate for the Anambra central senatorial district, Barrister Anthony Chukwuelue meet with all the 21 local government party chairmen, leaders and other relevant stakeholders at the party headquarter Awka, the Anambra State capital to strategies on how SDP will emerge victorious in all the National and state houses of Assembly elections in the State.

The state chairman of the party, Dr Webster Okonkwo, who spoke on behalf of his executives said the victory of his party in Anambra National and State Assemblies elections is certain because the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in the state lacked political maturity and capacity to offers dividends of democracy to the people.

He identified some of the democracy dividends to be primarily on balanced, equitable and truly functional state been the “light of the Nation” as Industrialize state, free, self-reliant and democratic society; an inclusive, productive, pro-growth and sustainable economy and a culture of raising effective leaders through mentoring of Young people.

The meeting also unanimously resolved to be an issue based in all its campaign engagements, in its bid to firmly strengthen the Social Democratic Party SDP in the State which is the only ideology-driven political party in Nigeria.

Dr Okonkwo also observed that the gross lack of capacity in managing the economy and the political immaturity in governance by the APC led Federal Government has brought untold hardship, increased sectarian violence and polarised the nation into ethnic and religious camps, in fact, the last three years has been tales of disillusionment, despair and disenchantment.

While also reiterating that all hope is not lost, as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a credible political party has come to stop the haemorrhaging and guide the nation back unto the path of prosperity, progress and unity, noted that the SDP is ready to give Nigerians good governance.

He explains that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is directed, driven and defined by its core values of Justice, fairness, equity and progress, integrity, good leadership, zero-tolerance for corruption and sustainable development.

We are the party Nigerians have been waiting for and we are determined to deliver on our promises working together as a people to give Nigerians a new lease of life, he added.
