2019: Coalition of 36 political parties set to battle APC govt

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a coalition of 36 political parties on Wednesday said that it had set up a steering committee which was saddled with the sole responsibility of coming out with a blueprint on the solutions to the nation’s multifaceted problems.

‎The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae, disclosed this to news men in Abuja y yesterday when the representatives of the Chairmen of the parties of the Coalition under the umbrella of the ‘Coalition of Concerned Political Parties”, CCPP, paid him a courtesy visit at the Party’s National Secretariat in continuation of the group’s consultations.

‎Chief Falae said the coming together of the Coalition became necessary because of the complex nature of the problems facing the country under the present administration, ranging from security to economy as Nigerians were now turning beggars in the midst of plenty.

According to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, and a one time Finance Minister “the members of Coalition have been meeting and consulting since February this year for the progress and the unity of the country,

“We have reached the stage of putting up a steering committee to formulate a blueprint for the nation’s problems ahead of the the 2019 general elections, you don’t rule out anything under the situation we are in the country now, we may later form an alliance or a coalition to fight our common course of restoting of the nation lost glory.”

Chief Falae declared that the coalition was still discussing and into dialogue ‎with various groups and individuals with the same aspiration for the unity of the country.

Speaking in the same vain, the Chairman of the coalition, who is also the National Chairman of the Justice Party, Chief Breetfort Onwubuya, said that the coalition had been strategising and discussing on how to rescue the nation from total collapse.

According to him, “We are searching for the ‎solutions to the complicated problem od the Country, we were 40 registered political parties when we started but as of today, we are now 36 and we are very committed to the unity and progress of this country.”

In his brief remark, the National Secretary of the SDP, Mallam Shehu Musa Gabam, assured that the Coalition would make its final decision known in a week or two to this time
