2019: APGA members urged to intensify grassroots mobilisation

MEMBERS of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), have been charged to intensify grassroots mobilisation in order to replicate the party’s victory in the last gubernatorial poll in Anambra state in the forthcoming general elections.

The National Chairman of the Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta gave this advice on Saturday during a stakeholder’s forum in Awka, the Anambra State Capital.

Chief Emecheta noted that even though the impressive achievements of the Obiano administration have endeared APGA indigents and other Nigerians party faithful should sustain what he called “door-to-door” campaigns in order to undermine the propaganda of their political opponents.

He observed that loyalty and steadfastness are the hallmarks of members of ideologically based political parties, pointing out that this explains why politicians in developed countries hardly defect from one party to another or shamelessly engage in anti-party activities in whatever guise.

In his remark, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots Media Mobilisation, Honourable Egbuna Amuta, advised stakeholders to always remind the electorate that the Obiano administration would still be in office after the 2019 general elections to continue to deliver democracy dividends to the various communities in the State.

Honourable Amuta noted that such reminder would encourage the voters to support only candidates who after the polls would work in tandem with Governor Obiano for overall socio-economic development of Anambra
State.

Other stakeholders who spoke during the strategy planning parley stressed the urgent need to mobilise total support for APGA pointing out that the party took the decision to field a presidential candidate in order to maximize support for all flag bearers in the forthcoming general election.
