Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, has promised not to relegate the people of the Ogun West senatorial district in the scheme of things in his government if elected into power in 2019.

The assurance was given during his visit to members of the Yewa Traditional Council under the chairmanship of the Olu and Paramount of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, on Wednesday, in Ilaro.

Abiodun was accompanied by his deputy governorship candidate, Noimot Salako -Oyedele, the Director-General of Dapo Abiodun Campaign Organisation and former deputy governor of the state, Prince Segun Adesegun, former governorship aspirant.Hon.Abiodun Akinlade, APC Ogun West senatorial candidate, Chief Tolu Odebiyi, Senator Gbenga Obadara among others.

He called for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from.the monarchs on their aspirations and expectations to be drawn by them from his administration, which would serve as a form of agreement between them.

Abiodun also promised not to be a sectional governor but a governor that would be fair and just in the distribution of infrastructural developments to every parts of the state.

He added that rural roads which are in bad conditions would be rehabilitated for ease transportation of farm produce to the urban centres within his first 12 months in office.

Abiodun described his emergence as the party’s standard bearer as a “testimony to the awesomeness of God”, adding that he shared the clamour for Yewa Agenda which made him to prostrate for Governor Ibikunle Amosun to allow Senator Adeola Solomon to run for the senatorial district seat in 2015 in preparation for 2019.

“I want to assure you that I won’t be a sectional governor, but a governor for all. I have already put my vision into a policy document which I sincerely believe will transform the state and address infrastructural deficit, particularly in Ogun West.

“As a prince myself, I will be a governor that will give the royal fathers the utmost respect they deserve. And like I told people from the manufacturing sector, I will not be a fire brigade governor. As we all know, no success can happen by accident, we have planned ahead and we know what to do as we have documented our programmes”.

“I sincerely share the clamour for Ogun West person to be governor and that was the major reason I begged and even prostrated for the incumbent governor, to allow Senator Solomon Adeola popularly known as Yayi, run for the senate in 2015 in preparation for 2019. But God is always greater than men, that is why I said my emergence is a testimony to the awesomeness of God.

“So for you to be rest assured that Ogun West will not be relegated in my administration, I humbly request that a Memorandum of Understanding, which will highlight all your aspirations and expectations, should be drawn by you so that it will serve as a binding agreement between you and I.” Abiodun submitted.

Oba Olugbenle in his remarks said the traditional rulers would continue to offer their prayers towards the success of Abiodun at the polls.
