2019: Anambra APC call for cancellation of primaries

THE National Assembly aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Anambra State, have called for the cancellation of the Senatorial and Federal House of Representatives primary elections in the state.

According to the aspirants led by Engr Nelson Onubuogu for Anambra North, Azuka Okwuosa for Anambra South end Ebele Obi for Anambra Central, the aspirants who jointly disclosed this during a press conference in Awka, the Anambra state capital, alleged that no primary election was conducted by the party in the state

“Yesterday was to be the day for the conduct of primary elections for National Assembly positions in Anambra state. Before then we met with the party leadership in the state and they told us that a panel would be sent to conduct the exercise from Abuja”

‘We waited for the panel on that day and we saw nobody, by the end of that day we got information that it has been conducted. ‘

We called the state party Chairman Barr Emeka Ibe and he assured us that the election would be conducted.”

The aspirants further alleged that some elements in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who joined the party are behind what they called a rape of democratic process.

“Our party has some fair-weather friends who were disqualified from the PDP and they have come to cause trouble in our party.

They urged National Chairman of the party Adams Oshiomhole and President Muhammadu Buhari to cancel the election and call for a fresh election.
