As the day approaches, the organisers of Gidi Cultural Festival known as Gidifest have reeled out the list of foods and drinks expected at this year’s showdown. Touted as a festival of food, drink, music and art, the 2017 Gidifest aims at impressing guests with its line-ups.

“The creamiest Italian gelato in Lagos from Hans and Rene, the juiciest wings with dressings of your choice from Wingsville, the signature cocktails accompanied with choice garnishes from The Gimlet Garden, the tastiest meat delicacy popularly known to Lagosians as ‘Asun’ by the Naija butcher, a little sweet for the little ones from Microbar, Sugarkane, Shawarma hub, the Hot dog bar, Avanti beverage, Grand Chef Noodle, Wilsons, Mims Bar, Uncle Sam food, Sweet twist” are among the food vendors that will be making an enrol at this year’s festival, says the Director, Gidi Culture Festival, Mr Chinedu Okeke in a statement.

Okeke also said guests of the festival, which will take place at beachfront of the Eko Atlantic on Monday, 17th April, will also be apparelled fashionably.

He said, “Gidifest attracts people from across the continent and it is a custom for fashionable festival goers to look their best, even when casually dressed. This makes the festival a go-to place for identifying fashion trends.

“Considering previous editions of the festival, it is clear that the following constitute some essential outfit of a GidiFest attendee as well as other necessary items: Sunshade: to protect your eyes from sun glare; Knapsack/ backpack/fanny pack: for storing carry-about items; sneakers/sandals/slippers: to navigate the sandy beach; face cap/ hat: to shield your head from heat and sunburn; Sunscreen: to protect your skin. This may need to be reapplied; Light make-up: Because of the unpredictable weather; mid-size towel: To dry yourself when perspiring; Wristbands: To spice up your appearance.

“Gidi cultural festival, being a beachfront gathering of free-spirited people, whose sole purpose is to have fun on a sunny day through a host of activities and performances will require that attendees, celebrities and performers dress as casually and as freely as they can, taking into consideration, the activities, the sandy environment and prevailing temperature in the city of Lagos.”
