Two pilgrims among those who went to perform 2016 Hajj in Makkah ,Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from Niger State ,have been confirmed dead and buried in the Holy land.
The pilgrims are Alhaji Haruna Kusherki, a member of the state Hajj team, who died two weeks ago and one Hajiya Aisha Suleiman Kaka, a pilgrim from Edati Local Government Area of the state.
The second pilgrim, Hajiya Kaka, was said to have died last Saturday after a brief illness, while their remains have since been buried after a prayer session at the Majid Al-Haram in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that prior to the female pilgrim’s illness in the Holy land, she was said to have got burnt on her legs due to excessive heat on the tiles of Prophet Muhammad Mosque in Medina about three weeks ago.
In another development, another pilgrim from the state, (names withheld) ,is said to be receiving treatment at a Saudi Hospital in Makkah , as a result of a road traffic crash in the Holy land.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Habibu Wushishi, the deputy press secretary to the Niger State deputy governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, confirmed the incidents to the Nigerian Tribune, at the weekend.
Wushishi, who is also one of the state pilgrims, who went to perform the 2016 Hajj , said this in the Holy land, in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, on Saturday.
