The police on Thursday arraigned two men before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over an alleged assault on police personnel on duty.
Ifeanyi Obi, 33, and Gloria Obi, 36, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a three-count charge bordering on assault.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem said that the defendant committed the offences on March 19 at 5:05 p.m. at Owode Onirin Market Bus Stop in Ikorodu.
Iberedem alleged that defendants assaulted Insp. Ikpi Tebe and Sgt. Ajibodu Oluwasegun by willfully obstructing them.
He submitted that the police personnel were attached to the Alapere Police Station, Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the alleged offences contravene the provisions of Sections 411, 174(b) of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Chief Magistrate, F.A. Azeez admitted them to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until May 5 for a mention.
