Ahead of the meeting of the Northern States Governors Forum meeting, the Forum of Secretaries of the Government of the 19 Northern States have converged in Kaduna to set agenda for the meeting of their principals slated to begin on Monday.
In an opening remarks, Chairman of the Forum of Secretaries of the Government of the 19 Northern States and Chief Scribe to Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi thanked his colleagues for their unflinching commitment, loyalty and determination to the service of their various states
Ibrahim Njodi encouraged the SSGs to remain resolute in their job description stressing that the task of administration and governance is not only daunting but challenging.

While recalling with concern, the numerous unfortunate incidences leading to the loss of lives and properties across the North, the Chairman of the SSGs express gratitude to God for still sustaining the region in particular and the nation as a whole.
According to him, “There were instances of flood disaster in Bauchi, Borno, Yobe and terror attacks in Yobe, Zamfara and some parts of Katsina and Niger States as well as the unfunate petrol tanker explosion which claimed many lives in Jigawa state.”
“As a matter of fact, the delay in rainfall was also another worrisome issue but by and large God was able to miraculously make things easier for the zone so as a people we thank him,” he added.
Earlier before the commencement of the meeting, a one minute silence was observed for the victims of various disasters across the 19 States of the region as contained in a statement by Joshua Danmallam, Information Officer, SSG’s office, Gombe.
